Message from Ken Carter, Church Secretary

Dear friends,
I am writing briefly to remind all Church Members that our June Members' Meeting will take place on Wednesday 25 June at 7:45pm in the main church. Our Moderator, Rev. Ian Phillips will be chairing our meeting and as usual, we will have a number of important matters to discuss and decisions to make regarding our on-going life and work. I would therefore ask that all members make every effort to attend in person, or online so that we have a full quorum to support our decision-making. The draft agenda and other supporting documents will be available in the members' area of the website in the next few days. A Zoom link will also be circulated nearer to the date of the meeting for those who need to join online.
I look forward to seeing you on 25 June. Thank you for your continued support of our church work.

Turning Tides – Roffey Place update

Turning Tides is thankful to the Brighton Road Baptist Church community for the support shown to the people they’ve helped at Roffey Place. They report:-

Roffey Place has supported 174 homeless people and enabled 65 positive planned move-ons since opening in 2022. We’re deeply proud of these outcomes at a time when homelessness is on the rise and we’re very grateful to everyone who made that possible.
However, after a long period of review, we’ve made the decision not to continue using Roffey Place as part of our long-term services. The size of the building and location, while helpful in the short term, have presented significant challenges — particularly around accessibility and suitability for those we support.
We are now actively looking for a new provision that will better meet people’s needs — somewhere more accessible and integrated into the local community, with the facilities and layout to support individuals more effectively. In the meantime, we remain committed to running Roffey Place as usual.
Your support makes Roffey Place possible — and it will continue to play a vital role as we move forward.

Date for the Diary

On Saturday, 31st August a Church Picnic in Horsham Park is being organised by the ministers of Horsham’s Baptist Churches. Note the date and look out for more information later.

BMS Birthday Scheme

Celebrating birthdays this week are Eileen Cherriman on Monday 16th and Harry Emerson on Tuesday 17th June.
